CALtek - Industrial Salt & Calcium Remover
CALtek™ Industrial Salt & Calcium Remover neutralizes alkaline residues and effectively removes salt and calcium deposits from porous and non-porous substrates. With no infused fragrances, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), CALtek™ ingredients are readily biodegradable in accordance with OECD 301.
The chemical composition of CALtek™ allows for efficient dissolution of calcium salt deposits typically associated with winter road de-icing applications. CALtek™ is a concentrated and buffered citric acid solution also containing neutral surfactants. Citric acid is very efficient at reducing corrosion both on aluminum and stainless steel by the chelation of ions. Buffered Citric acid will show the same or a better corrosion profile. In addition, buffered citric acid will not damage polymers typically found in hoses, window trims etc. Aluminum, Stainless steel, Copper alloys and Nickel alloys are all resistant to the action of citric acid.
In the context of removing Calcium Chloride from winter activities of public vehicles, CALtek™ will effectively reduce the corrosion of the equipment and help to preserve assets. It should be noted that Carbon Steel, when exposed to Calcium Chloride for prolonged periods of time and in sufficiently high concentration, will show light corrosion over time. The natural rate of corrosion of Carbon Steel due to exposure to Calcium Chloride will not be expedited or increased due to exposure to CALtek™. Therefore, Caltek™ is ideal for use in the cleaning processes of municipal fleet vehicles (buses), industrial fleet vehicles and porous / non-porous infrastructure (tunnels, bridges).
